How to Choose the Right Box Size

The ideal box is the smallest one that fits your product with enough padding to prevent damage. Oversized boxes waste packaging material, increase DIM weight charges, and raise your shipping costs without adding value.

How Much Padding Do You Need?

  • Bubble wrap / foam: 1-2 inches per side
  • Packing peanuts: 2-3 inches per side
  • Fragile items: 3+ inches, double-box for valuables
  • Standard non-fragile: 1 inch may be sufficient

Carrier Size Limits

  • USPS: Max 108" length + girth. Max 70 lbs.
  • UPS: Max 165" length + girth. Max 150 lbs. Packages over 96" longest side get additional handling surcharges.
  • FedEx: Max 165" length + girth. Max 150 lbs.
